How to clone a VM from another powered off VM in vSphere Client

1.    Log into vSphere Client and ensure that you are in the VMs and Templates view

2.    Locate the desired VM to clone.  Right-click this VM and choose Clone

3.    Enter a name for the new VM and choose an inventory location.  Click Next

4.    Select the HA Cluster and click Next

5.    If required, select a resource pool within which you wish to run the new VM and click Next

6.    Select the datastore in which to store the new VM and click Next

7.    Choose to use the same disk format as the source and click Next

8.    Choose to Customize using an existing customisation specification and select the desired specification from the list.  Click Next

9.    Enter any required user settings (these will vary depending on the customisation specification) and click Next

10.    Click Finish
