Increase the amount of startup delay to edit the BIOS of a virtual machine

If ever I need to edit the BIOS of a virtual machine I increase the boot delay to allow time to press ESC.  Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log in to the vSphere Web Client
  2. Right-click on the VM and choose Edit Settings
  3. On the VM Options tab expand Boot Options
  4. Increase the value for Boot Delay (in milliseconds)

    VM_Boot_Delay

  5. Click OK

Note: you could also tick the box to force entry into the BIOS the next time the VM boots

    VM_Force_BIOS
