vSphere 6.0 – Increase database settings for task and event retention

By default, vSphere 6.0 keeps information about tasks and events for 30 days.  This can easily be changed if required in a few simple steps:

1. Log in to the vSphere Web Client
2. Navigate to the vCenter Server instance
3. Select the Manage tab
4. Under Settings, select General
5. Click Edit
6. Select Database
7. Change the values for Task retention and Event retention as required
8. Click OK

Note: Increasing the database retention settings for tasks and events can significantly increase the amount of disk space required.
